And as a last resort, if the ultimate verdict were a Biden win, Trump could find a few fraud cases (perhaps deliberately planted) and make a court challenge on that basis, counting on the conservative leanings of the Supreme Court to render a Bush v. Gore-esque GOP victory.A Biden rout, however, could undercut any Trump claim of fraud. The further Biden is ahead, the greater the burden would be on Trump to prove the level of fraud was enough to overcome the verdict. Though there will be few instances of fraud and they would not be material in almost any scenario, clearly the bigger the win, the better.

(25,471 posts)As the polls close, multiple organizations will make calls. If Biden gets 270 on election night, there's nothing "the media" can do to change that. If the AP calls it, good night Trump.

(86,588 posts)The masses of voters actually voting this past few weeks and ongoing, I'm thinking this will be one for the record books. I hope it's such an overwhelming defeat of -45 that there is no contest to the result.

(7,447 posts)scenario 1: Biden wins Florida. Florida will be called on election night. Biden winning Florida pretty much seals it and takes the wind out of one or two states that don't count fast enough.
scenario 2: Biden wins Texas. Same as above basically. Texas will also be called on election night.
scenario 3: Biden wins Michigan and Arizona. Both states probably will be called on election night. Not quite as slam dunk as 1 and 2 but definitely takes the wind out.
If AZ is still too close to call, and Florida and Texas are as well (or go Trump), then I think you could easily have to wait a day or so for all the vote to come in other places to "be sure" as the media will want to be.
