I watched this scene unfold on CNN last night.

This tiny little girl left her moms side after a brief discussion who gave her a push. She kind of sauntered over not looking, yet looking at Obama. She moved toward him, veered off then went back. She so wanted to meet him. As always he greeted her with love and respect dropping a bit to get down to her size.

In another time? He would have given her a hug. In another time. In another time *sigh* We lost that, we are losing the human touch and that is a painful thing for all of us. However sans his beautiful healing smile that is behind a mask, his eyes and words give love and comfort.

This was the sweetest thing I have seen all week.

Love and hugs DU. We can get through this with a little love in our hearts.

Thank you so much for posting this... .I saw it happen in real time when he was in PA.. He said something like he really wished he could give her a big hug. Children are drawn to President Obama.

I'm into unconventional spirituality, and I believe he emits a loving, kind light that the little ones can't resist. I remember when he was in office my sister and I used to call him "the baby whisperer." My sis was in childcare for a good part of her career, and I've taught classes of kids in every grade. Children are like critters when it comes to having a basic instinct regarding who they are attracted to and who repels them. Just seeing President Obama out and about these past couple of days has provided me with much comfort....
