(42,278 posts)In 2008, he was the Democratic side of a debate between the campus Dems and campus Rs. This proud mom reports that he wiped the floor with the R kid.
There was a definite L/R divide there. Mostly kids of wealthy families (not us, my kid was a scholarship boy), lots from the south. My kid was a precinct chair for Obama's campaign. He got all his preppie frat brothers to get out canvassing in predominately poor and Black communities.
Do I sound like a proud mom?

(5,499 posts)It's not like there is overlap between the two candidates. They couldn't be more different.

(292 posts)are really undecided. It's seems an odd contradiction to me that on the one hand you are so involved in politics that you want to participate in a TV panel discussing the debate and yet on the other hand have no inkling who you want to vote for 12 days out from the election. That's particularly hard for me to believe in a race with two candidates so radically different.
If you have watched trump for the past 3 and a half years and are still on the fence about how you feel about him then I really don't think your opinion is anything I care to listen to.

(3,131 posts)Talk about catering to the lowest common denominator. Start by asking them "how did you decide to get out of bed this morning". The answer is likely to be some variant of "Mom made me get up".
Just more of the same. Push ignorance and incompetence instead of respecting expertise and capability. Then wonder why discourse devolved.

(1,896 posts)The last time I tried to vote they changed all the names on the mallard, uh ballard, and somebody we never herd of winned. So yeah, I might change my my mind about not knowing about who I wont vote for and think about not knowing who I will vote for instead. But that depends. I could change my mind after the debate.
Maybe after the debate I'll be thinking about
