Nate Silver's last comment - interesting

NATE SILVER

To just ground things here for a minute, there’s 20 minutes left in the debate, and we can argue about who’s done better (I have a fairly strong opinion on that), but Trump really needs some sort of knockout blow or major Biden gaffe given his poor position in the race, and we certainly haven’t seen that so far.

Is that Biden had a substantial lead in this race and this is the last major event with a big audience.

Trump needed to change the race tonight and this debate did not do it. More than likely this debate will be forgotten by Monday.

That's obvious based on his prior comments during the string. At one point another 538 member posted that Trump was doing well. Nate immediately broke in and said maybe on substance, but Biden was doing well on style and substance

Nate doesn't comment as much as the others so that really stood out

that, of course, was only halfway through the debate ... and I think trump's second half wasn't as strong on tone as the first

I don’t think Trump’s doing well, particularly. Maybe on the tone, but not on the substance. And Biden’s been pretty good on both tone and substance.

I mixed it up. But that was midway through the debate and it's obvious what Nate believed toward who was winning

15. His boasting about the stock market hasn't done it

since most people, even those with years into a 401K, aren't seeing that much appreciation over the last couple of years. It leveled out pre Covid, dropped like a rock, and hasn't quite recovered to the previous record, not even with all the shenanigans being pulled to shove money that would be going to families to keep them housed and fed shoved into Wall Street instead.

Ues, it's going to go down, but it will do that no matter who gets in because people are going to be dipping into their portfolios and selling off poor performers as dividends drop. Dumdum's only idea will be to gut Social Security and put that money into the market. Biden might have a few better ideas.

Dumdum might have delivered that knockout punch to himself with that one. I sincerely hope so.
