6. There was no "using the mute button", this is a misconception of the setup
When the candidate was asked a question, their 2 min clock started, and the opponent's mic was switched off in the control room. After that, both mics were on, until the next question.
Welker did not have a button. |

5. She really does! I was one of he people who
criticized her selection as moderator for this final debate. I'm happy to admit how wrong I was! She did a memorable job, one that will be talked about in future debates.
