(11,656 posts)I thought Biden was on point throughout, substantive and as sharp as I have seen him. Calm when he needed to be and righteously emotional at the right times as well. I also thought Welker was very professional, fair, did a great job. I still feared Trump would get a substantial bounce just by virtue of having lowered expectations to an almost unbelievable level in the first debate and simply not shitting his pants on stage this time.

(19,253 posts)Difference between debates 1 and 2.
Debate 1, all Biden supporters, most independents, and a good number of Trump supporters thought Biden won.
Debate 2, all Biden supporters, most independents, and only a few Trump supports thought Biden won.

(415 posts)I saw the CNN poll live as well, great news!
I'm projecting 160 million votes, huge turnout, 54 to 44 with 2% undecided.
And Texas is in play. We should see them exceed 2016 turnout with the early vote. Unbelievable.
Seems like Biden should visit. What are you hearing? Thoughts?

There's clearly a chance, and Biden is putting some closing money into Texas advertising, but its a huge State (and very expensive) with a lot of obstacles to voting.

(415 posts)I'm actually a long time member (2004) with very few posts. I know you are connected, and very savvy with respect to political strategy.
If you were advising the campaign, would you make a visit?
Me...I would advise visiting Texas, with a couple of visits to major metro areas, and most importantly try to visit those poor 500+ kids separated from their parents. Then spend a few minutes talking about turning over every stone possible to reunite them with their parents/families. And if the Feds won't let him in the building, even better. This is about reminding everyone how cruel Trump, Cornyn and the rest are.
My 2 cents...

(26,045 posts)...where HRC was hoping to "expand the map," but wound up concentrating on states we didn't have a solid chance of taking, while neglecting the upper midwest states that proved to be crucial. I like the idea of expanding the map, but let's lock up 270 first.

(415 posts)Visiting the children will win the news cycle big time and play well in all the places Biden needs to win / lock up the votes.
Do you remember how horrified we were when we first heard about family separation. And this awful news about the 545...American needs to be reminded. And a horrified Biden denouncing this once again, and announcing a plan to reunite the children and families, that will play very, very well in every battleground.
