1. Yeah, it was always just a misleading tease for the movie. It sure seems to have worked!

There's another tease for the movie where a couple dressed as mountain-type bumpkins are in a "pregnancy center" to get an abortion and there's obviously a camera crew right there in the room and the supposedly-duped "counselor's" face isn't blurred out, meaning they have a signed release and he's an actor. Except for the brief Giuliani/bedroom bit, it looks like they're all just scripted bits. Maybe Rudy's is too. I hear he's drunk all the time anyway and needs money bad.

3. Some here tried to lower expectations, but alas...

Cohen is famous for misdirection, of course. Some tried to temper expectations and some who'd seen the full scene (like Mother Jones' editorial director) tried to warn everyone that it wasn't what it was being assumed to be, but that didn't stop nearly everyone from hoping on the bandwagon.

Cohen makes everyone sign a waiver so it always made little sense that Rudy would have done what many were claiming, even drunk.
