I have noticed a trend in Texas.

I live in a rural county just south of San Antonio so I get the local and state political commercials all over the local news. The usual republican misrepresentations are there but there is something else going on. Every single candidate from both parties has expressed support for health coverage for people with preexisting conditions in almost all of their commercials. Of course the gop assertion is a lie, they are suing to have this protection removed from existing law without so much as a rough draft of its replacement, much less a specific plan to restore the preexisting condition protection.

I could go on about the content, but my point is this: The debate is being held on our turf, healthcare. It is never a good sign for a political party when their offer is "that thing you like about the other party."

1. GOP internal polls show that everyone wants them covered.

That's why people like Cornyn are trying to suddenly pivot to a stance supporting them. Of course, he's on record opposing covering them at every turn, so hopefully people will see through the nonsense.

2. reminds me of Nixon's "peace with honor" bullshit that he dragged out the Vietnam war for

5 years and letting 25,000+ more americans be killed and 100's of thousands wounded.

4. The problem is that after several decades of the same lies about healthcare...

The Republican Party is still stuck on the same lies about healthcare and those people who didn't need it before and do now, know that the Republican lies are a crock of shit that is very harmful to them. Not only have Republicans failed to come up with anything after decades, they are even too lazy to come up with anything at all, except for the same gimmick lies.
