(8,200 posts)I have talked to several Republicans that don't seem to grasp the fact that they are supporting a party that's stated objectives would destroy them. They can't even admit that could not even survive without programs such as Social Security and Medicare. Tens and tens of thousands would be left destitute within a few months without these programs. It really is aggravating and I just totally don't have any time for them anymore. I don't want their friendship or really to have any desire to association with them because they seemed to be compelled to justify their insanity and will not keep their damnable opinions to their self.
I am just to damn old to tolerate their crap.

(12,182 posts)I realize that these testimonials are just anecdotal, but imagine that, for every awakened BidenHarris voter, there must be hundreds, and maybe thousands, of ones you will never hear of.
How many "former" Democratic voters have thought that the last few years have been so dynamic and successful that they are forced to vote for the incumbents? 20?
Every drop in the bucket will eventually fill the bucket.

But I am encouraged that their father could do something extraordinary (for him) for his daughters. Maybe there's hope for America after all.

(1,910 posts)So he was an ahole the entire time, voted for Trump after he said grab him by the pussies...while he had daughters and grand daughters? And now on his way out he says he voted against Trump. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't, you can not trust the guy. But he was an ahole for voting for the guy in the first place. Sorry, I am done having any empathy for even one father who voted for Trump. And if this guy had remained healthy he would have been right back out there voting for Trump.

(7,334 posts)I dislike the trumpists with a passion, but I also believe that in the long it is better to forgive then hold onto hate in any form. Better for my mental sanity. But I will never forget, either.
And her father did come through in the end - he proved that he has compassion, empathy and love, and was able to overcome years of conditioning to do the right thing.

(28,485 posts)not have voted for Trump then.
Actually any person who has, or used to have, a mother, should have been so offended by the "grab them" remark that not a single one should have voted for Trump.
I guess a shocking number of people have no respect for their own mothers, sisters, wives, or daughters.
