Can Barrett be impeached, assuming Dems take the senate?

I'm not asking if we should do it, or if we have the will to do it. It seems like grounds for impeaching Kavanaugh are that he lied to congress during his hearing. I'm not certain what would be the grounds for removing Barrett. Your thoughts please.

Every answer she gave to the dems are "I have to see the real case, talk to clerks and then decide". What do you have to impeach her on?

it's in the Senate that we run into trouble, even if we were to win all the Senate seats up for re-election this year, we would still fall far short of the needed 67 votes to convict and remove her.

Expanding the SC is a far easier solution, provided the Congressional Dems are all in harmony.

5. Conviction in the senate regardless of who requires 67 votes.

Not 50 or even 60 but 67.

So realistically impeachment is never an option not today not tomorrow, not next year, not next decade. It never was for Trump either not even if the Democrats had a majority in the Senate. The days of even a few Republicans crossing the aisle on lofty ideals is long since dead and buried.

People might as well even forget that impeachment exists because conviction in the senate is de facto not an option for anyone anytime for any reason.

7. Exactly. Even back in the days of Nixon, they didn't convict.

Instead of conviction, they did a back door deal to get him out. Conviction is a theory.

10. How is it provable that Kavanaugh lied to Congress?

He probably did, but what's the specific lie that you have in mind and what evidence is available to prove it?

Because we don’t just impeach judges because we don’t like their rulings or we don’t agree with their stance on heavily political issues. Think about how dangerous that would be. Every time there was a change in the party occupying the White House, the incoming party could just wipe out the judges they don’t like and replace them. There’s a reason the framers made their term of service so broad and open ended.

Being a really conservative religious zealot isn't a crime.

Kavanaugh there probably is because he lied, but even that is hard to prove (he could say "I misremembered by accident). However, if it's proven that he lied about sexual assault (like a video emerges), then that should be enough. Still need 67 votes though.
