That Barrett hasn't withdrawn from her nomination tells you all we need to know about her.

She will get her position with a huge black mark of shame, a tainted process, and via an impeached president during a pandemic.

Her soul doesn't exist - she is a damaged shell of a person who is utterly unfit for the role she is being pushed into.

She will never escape this taint, just as Beer Boy Brett will never escape his.

travesty to all that she was even nominated, when there are far more qualified people to take on this role than her. She should be impeached and removed.

sides of an issue, but I still am mad about the Senate ignoring Barak Obama's pick for the Supreme Court and McConnell actions in ignoring his pick. I can't believe that nothing in the Constitution is set to a deadline or something like that, to have picks vetted and then voted on, by the full body of the Senate. I guess no one figured that such a thing would happen, but it did. That's why these discussions are coming up because the republicans played their little game. No more games. When Biden gets in, he needs to routinely ignore the Senate, and bypass them unless we capture the Senate (a very good possibility).

The Senate, under McConnell has / is a joke of a ruling body.

I think it was dumb for the senate not to go through the process of Garland. They had the majority and could have voted him down. So dumb.

We really need to steel ourselves against the predictable whining we'll be hearing from Republicans next year. They will put forward arguments about "fairness" or "respect" or some other quaint old concepts they've been happily peeing on for the last decade. We need to ignore them, not lend them a milligram of credence.

in seeking a job they clearly weren't qualified for in the first place, with the knowledge that they will be handed that job despite the public revelations as to how very unqualified they are. Wouldn't you be embarrassed? I sure would.

It would be like me being offered a starring role at the Metropolitan Opera. I can sing, but definitely not at that level - but supposing I had a close friend who was an extremely wealthy donor to the Met, and that person got me an audition with a wink-wink that I was sure to be given the starring role in the next production of, say, Tosca. And instead of saying, OMG, are you fucking kidding me, I can't sing Tosca!, which is what I would actually say, I show up for the audition and sing something really easy instead of Vissi d'arte, and not especially well, but I get the job anyhow. And now I'm about to make a colossal ass of myself in the performance and discredit the Met for having hired me, but they don't care because my benefactor just donated a bazillion bucks so they can keep going no matter what the critics say.

That's Amy Coney Barrett at the Senate "audition." She's unqualified but they don't care.
