The batch we got was all for Georgia, & they go out in the mail tomorrow.
I've never done it before, & she deserves the credit for volunteering.
Did any other DUers do it?

Edited to add: My hand is sore & I just know that tonight I'm going to be dreaming about writing "Firstname, Thank you for being a [previous/1st time] voter! Who you vote for is secret ..." etc etc over & over.
Edit #2: Yes, it was "Postcards to Swing States!" Corrected thread title & link. THANKS!!!

(42,298 posts)I have several friends doing postcards.
I'm doing text banking - I've got nerve damage in my elbow so can't write much.
We are doing what we can to GOTV!

(34,059 posts)If you get one postmarked Akron (or maybe Cleveland - the closest processing station), let me know.
If they were evenly distributed there are a little more than a million coming to AZ (The first batch went out about a week ago - mine are part of the second mailing)

(3,619 posts)I did several hundred. I really enjoyed doing it. I've never like doing phone calls or knocking on doors, so writing postcards was a perfect way for me to get involved. I also did texting and literature drops, safe and contactless.

(18,497 posts)Both with a handwritten note.
They are much more memorable than the mass mailing onslaught.
The first postcard was just a reminder that assistance to vote like a ride to the polls was available.
That prompted me to call and volunteer to drive others since I had arranged to have the day off weeks ago. I ended up signing up to be a poll watcher instead.
The second a couple days ago was for Jaime Harrison but I like it more. I has jis recipe for red velvet cake on it.

(32,679 posts)I thought it was a really nice touch to send something handwritten.
Thanks for all your hard work!

(34,059 posts)I don't like getting calls any more than I like making them - but I enjoy getting handwritten postcards.
So I figured it was a good fit.

(58,785 posts)I tried it once, but I'm a very slow writer (which I knew) and that enterprise surprised me with lengthy text to be copied in, nothing like the samples shown. I'd planned on filling most empty space with big flowers, stars, other nonsense, even purchased artist markers for it.
So these days it's calling to hustle people to get their mail-in ballots in -- to the dropbox. And so on.

Very time consuming. My hand was sore.
The biggest drawback is getting postcards in a timely fashion. They recommended ordering pre-paid cards through the USPS. Took 2 weeks to get my first batch. I then ordered through Etsy and bought the postage from the local post office (faster than ordering stamps online). Still took 2 weeks.
Did local races in Florida and Texas, and the Ohio Supreme court.

(34,059 posts)"Firstname",
We do our best for our families, no matter our color, age, or gender. But some politicians divide us to block access to affordable health care, good schools, and clean water. Let's join together to vote in the Tuesday, Nov 3 election!

I spread mine out over time, so my hand is not too sore. But I've got about 70 to finish tonight - so it will be sore tonight!

Yeah, I've seen a lot of trump signs where I live in Georgia, and only a few Biden signs, but I'm hopeful.
