General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsWe are sadly in a Rump zone, flags etc.
But I look at the overwhelming houses with no flags or signs and think that they just dont want to advertise but simply go to vote, as at our house with a small Vote Blue sign. We are a bit intimidated by people who could easily mess with us.
Hope Im right.

(16,925 posts)I, too, am in the middle of a serious "tRump" zone. Gawd, they actually have shrines outside with all of the crazy stuff that falls out of their spaces where there should be brains.
"Drain the swamp!"
"Biden will take your guns!"
Really?
Do they sit on their front stoop/porch/deck and wait for the Easter Bunny each year?
Are they putting out cookies and milk for Santa every Christmas Eve?
My GAWD, what don't they believe?
I'm with 'ya, Nov. 3 is gonna' be a great (yeah, long, too....) day!!!!

(32,626 posts)we took a trip into GOP-land, and I was floored by the lack of Trump signs. Those that had political signs had either Biden/Harris, or local elections. In 2016 this area was choked with Trump signs, all kinds. We rarely see Trump signs, so I was ready for the onslaught,...but nothing. Just a peaceful drive.

(6,797 posts)On my street there's three Trump signs, one Trump flag and three BIDEN signs. In 2016 there were Trump signs all up and down my street.

(12,375 posts)going up and down our county 24/7 and no Biden sales available anywhere. On the one hand it pisses me off... on the other, I think Biden ppl dont want to advertise, but simply prefer to vote.

(23,367 posts)Not in this environment. Going to a demonstration or something, sure. Putting signs on a car/home, no.

(70,671 posts)Last week the town admin put out a (request? No power behind it) that honking in residential areas cease.
This past Saturday morn they were in my neighborhood, honking. I called the cops to ask whether there were patrols around, cited the Admin's request and Disturbing the Peace. The dispatcher said that, yes, patrols are all over town but asked whether I wanted to file a report with an officer. I said I had filed a report with him/dispatcher.
But fairly soon there was no more honking.

(8,168 posts)I'm seeing a lot less signs on houses that had them last cycle. Oh, and way way way more Biden signs. People were very timid about Hillary signs last cycle.

Of course, I remember some McCain voters back in the day when I was living on Bay Point outside of Key West.

(12,375 posts)and there is still a huge animosity against democrats going back to Kennedy and Clinton. Also from my experience, racism is pretty strong amongst the non black community.
There is not strong support for Latinos from neighboring countries from what Ive seen and heard.

(1 post)Rrpublican brother and all his trumpy friends included my liberal family in a thread about how they were attending a trump rally
Not off to a good start when 1st text is:
"To my liberal leaning relatives & friends
Salem/Roanoke Trump Train Rally has started
Liberals must think there's a whole bunch of crazy people participating"
(Note: yup.)
Then a bunch of pics of maskless trumpers failing to socially distance and all the stupid trump flags on their trucks. 20 or 30 texts of this crud.
I finally decided I had kept quiet long enough and texted:
I kinda want a Trump flag as a memento, but I think I'll wait a couple weeks and get one at a steep discount.
Some idiot trumper friend / relative (not sure who) replied:
Why do you want it for your drape over your bathroom Mirror?
(Wow -- a few points off for bad grammar there, bud.)
My reply FTW:
Let's just agree that I would use it for something in the bathroom.
Haven't heard from anyone since.
