(55,153 posts)Thank and encourage the Dems and tell the GOP..."No reelection for you!". Leave a message, it doesn't matter if you are a constituent, the staffers count all calls and they can't tell where you live based on your cell phone number since people move and keep the same number all the time.
Thank you!!!

THIS is why we need devious thinkers on our side. Besides, the enemy doesnt expect us to think, or act, deviously (like McConnell does, for example).

(13,849 posts)and she'll be on the Supreme Court when tRump's frivolous election lawsuits are heard. And of course Roe v. Wade will be gone in short order.
I'm sorry, but I don't get the point of this grandstanding after we've been fucked over by Moscow Mitch. I'd rather be reading that our Congressional Democrats are working on plans to bring us Medicare for All, etc. etc. rather than this.

(9,328 posts)the floor speeches, which they are highlighting on social media, to try to build awareness and rail against republicans. Sadly, won't change or interfere with the vote.

Looks like his voting doesn't match his rhetoric. Good for him. I'll take back most of the rotten things I said about him when he first joined the Senate.

(41,634 posts)Bob Casey Sr., who passed away about 10 years ago, the former 2-term governor of Pennsylvania, and indeed he was anti-abortion all the way.
This is Senator Bob Casey Jr., and he has been pro-choice for as long as I can remember.

(42 posts)Sen. Casey is a different man than his father, the late governor or the unrelated Bob Casey's who served as State Treasurer in the 1980's or who ran for Lt Gov. in the 1970's in Pennsylvania on the Pete Flaherty ticket in the 1970's. (The other Caseys are unrelated to the governor or the senator.

I can live with that.

C'mon Democrats, let's keep this going.

(1,882 posts)It's nice that they're doing this, but it has little effect when 95% of citizens aren't even aware of it. One of the biggest faults of our media (the non-Fox non right wing media) is that it tends to focus on only a few stories at a time and repetitively cover them. Like CNN talking about nothing other than a missing plane for 9 days.

If nothing else, Dem senators are having the opportunity to voice their disgust with the Republicans!

(1,664 posts)Telling the story of how McConnell has pushed the limits of maximum power such that the Senate is broken, if not completely destroyed. The Republicans are pushing their deeply unpopular agenda, that they can't get done in the legislature, to create a very activist supreme court to carry out that agenda. Consequences for the country, for democracy are very dangerous if policy control moves to the SUpreme Court.
Senator Kaine up now 5 am EDT. Reading names of some who died of COVID-19.

(3,321 posts)It won't change a thing, however.
It is long past time to bring all powers we have to this fight.
If we do not, please become comfortable with the idea of republican control for the foreseeable future - and specifically, without republican majorities at the local, state or federal level.
We win the elections, they retain the power. Not a pleasant thought, not for me at least.
