(38,601 posts)1) sucks up to Joe
2) provides continuing cover while he attacks the election anyway
3) serves as a burn notice to his little apprentice in the WH

(6,544 posts)I suspect he will curtail the last minute hacking, though, as he knows that if it doesn't work, he will be on a much hotter hot seat when Joe gets sworn in. Just speculation on this last, but clearly Trump is very far under the bus

(10,047 posts)I mean if I hear one media outlet give him credit for trying to cover his own ass and once again trying to make it look like the US intel have it wrong and he is not involved. Innocent of all the bullshit, if anyone falls for that then there is no hope.

(10,039 posts)...best to just ignore it. If you cite Putin now you validate what came before.

(6,802 posts)Good point jayfish.
If I said anything I'd say. "Who knows exactly what this means. Must be a new way Trump and Putin are COLLUDING."
Silent3
(15,204 posts)...a sign that Biden is mixed up with the Russians, and that their Dear Leader never was. Republicans will have no trouble pivoting back to treating Putin as the bad guy once again, who can't be trusted, even after Trump explicitly expressed faith in Putin over our own intel services.

Silent3
(15,204 posts)...a pro-Trump person can take this message. And Putin is smart enough to be aware of the dual effect.

Whiskeytide
(4,461 posts)... chaos and instability in the US. Thats going to happen no matter who wins the election. Its harder to counter his moves when we are in a cold civil war amongst ourselves.
brush
(53,764 posts)talking chaos spreader, not to mention him being a covid spreader also, which adds to it.
We're close to the end of this madness though. And when we're able to look back on it, we'll all agree that this trump administration has been inept and incompetent and all of that of course, but it's also been cunning and evil in how he and Kushner wrote off blue states and allowed tens of thousands of Americans to die, only to see the virus spread to red states as well because of their colossal foolishness in assuming the virus would stay in blue states and be gone anyway when the weather warmed up.
They should all be impeached because of it. Wait, no. Impeached is to lenient, they should all be exiled permenantly for what they didn't doprotect the American people.
