Maybe the lull experienced over the summer was more about higher temps than much success from restrictions. If that is the cases its going to get much worse very soon.

...they're almost caught up with the disaster we have here, and the same is true with the death count.
Given how steep the rise in cases has been, it looks like France will surpass the scale of our fuck-up even if they make the most stringent possible attempt to turn things around immediately.
It's incredibly sad. And without knowing the details of what's going on in France, my only guess is that this is a result of growing complacency after early success.
