Schumer: Pence cannot come to the Senate because of his exposure to multiple COVID-positive staffers

?s=21

Chuck Schumer
@SenSchumer
Vice President Pence cannot come to the Senate because of his exposure to multiple COVID-positive staffers. His purely ceremonial and non-essential presence would just put Senators, staff, and Capitol workers at risk.

Is because the fucker's about to croak and he wants to get this done before that happens because his departure would probably cause the whole thing to collapse. Definitely a scorched earth tactic.

but if he has a heart condition and has had a bypass, then you're right that he could be taking Warfarin for that.

I knew a guy who took Warfarin after a heart attack and bruised so easily that after a weekend of sailing, one whole arm and both hands looked like MM's hands do now. My guess is that Warfarin is the cause of MM's purple hands.

Tweets from Sen. Murray, and Minority Leader Schumer - mentioning Sen. Whitehouse - were persistent in vowing to fight the nomination. I thought, nah, it's just recycling the week's tweets. Dunno. If he can keep Pence away, he's whittling away a tie vote by the VP. So I'm still wondering if something's up. Delay, as others here suggest? Seeking soft spots in the GOP Senate races, who know they are almost out the door? Whitehouse is appealing to principle - a bought Court - which is different from ACA and rights issues.

I hold no hope. Our backup plan is to expand the Court and shorten appointments, one if by law, two if by Constitutional amendment. It may be the issue for the next 2 generations - if too late for Climate Change, Civil Rights, Fascism.

Mitch.

Until everything is under control I won't attend any in person. Refuse to show up. I joked that I won't attend live meetings until the Governor opens the bars.

We had live meetings in September (I stayed home) and then in October were back to Zoom meetings for the foreseeable future.

Pence has previously quarantined himself (not essential after all).

Vice President Mike Pence and Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., have both quarantined themselves at home after staff members tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
