California Gov. Gavin Newsom's strict restrictions on social gatherings ahead of Thanksgiving next month has sparked anger from many residents in the state, with a number of celebrities sharing their reactions to the rules on social media.

Gov. Newsom and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) have released stringent new regulations in an attempt to curb growing cases amid the coronavirus pandemic.

"Gatherings are defined as social situations that bring together people from different households at the same time in a single space or place. When people from different households mix, this increases the risk of transmission of COVID-19," the CDPH said in a statement.

Among the new rules are; all gatherings must include no more than three households, masks must stay on after eating and drinking and singing, chanting and shouting are "strongly discouraged."

Rob Schneider (who inspired Roger Ebert's book "Your Movie Sucks" ), Adam Baldwin, Cody Wolfe, Nick Searcy, Justine Bateman, and Adam Corolla (described as an "author" ). Yeah, that's some prime A-list personages.

Not exactly a Hollywood A-list roster of objectors. I notice most of them had to use crude language, too. Curious.

However, I will say this petty thing too.

Really?!? Rob Schneider, Justine Bateman, Adam Baldwin, Cody Wolfe, Adam Corolla, and Nick Searcy? That is who they got? Duce Bigelow, Jason Bateman's less talented, less active sister, The guy who had ONE good role in Full Metal Jacket, A "country singer" who is more like a Twitter manipulator, the guy from Love Lines on KROQ in the 90's (and the Man Show), and a "character actor"?

That is a stretch of the word "Celebrity".

I do think that the guidelines put out are not really enforceable but they are suggested to slow the spread as we continue to falter in our efforts to mount any kind of cohesive response to the pandemic that is regaining momentum.

Decent guidelines, but how can they know what people are doing in their homes?
