Went and voted early today here in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Our first winter storm is

going on today. It was 36 degrees F this morning when I went out and this afternoon
around 3 when we went out to vote it was 25 degrees F with wind and snow. Needless to
say, there was no line of people waiting to vote. We got in and out with just the usual fuss
and there are now two additional solid votes for all the Democrats on the ballot. YAY!

3. I used to live in Upper Michigan, South Dakota and Wisconsin. Weather doesn't bother

me much when it comes to voting!

4. I got my on-line acceptance notification on the 21st.

Eight days after the drop box. I was beginning to get nervous.

5. I turned in my ballot a week ago in Four hills (SE heights of Albuquerque)

We have a blizzard up here in Four Hills and 18 degrees F. Wind chill way below zero F.
This is crazy for Oct 26th here.

6. Fellow Burqueno here: We turned in our ballots last Tuesday.

Long line for early voters; no line for turning in absentee ballots.

7. I voted in Santa Fe on the 17th.

I love how easy it is to vote, especially to early vote, in New Mexico.

8. Is it snowing there now or soon?

I have family driving home to Santa Fe from LasVegas, NV. (still unsure why they went to Vegas in the middle of a pandemic) Supposedly they are driving back today. They did not give details as to why they went, but it is a long road trip.

13. It's been snowing, mostly lightly, all day.

I'm guessing three or so inches accumulation at this point.

I'm guessing they won't be driving through the Raton Pass, which if it's not actually closed right now, probably isn't good to drive through.

I do wonder at people who insist on taking trips these days. Saying you're tired of being home is total bullshit. How about people in Europe during WWII? They didn't take vacation trips for about six years, and somehow made it through. The essential and underlying problem is that people consistently focus on the negative ("OMG! I'm stuck at home! I can't stand it!" rather than the positive ("Guess I'll finally learn to knit, or clean out the closets, or read War and Peace to my kids". It's up to us how we respond to things. It's not up to the world to make everything wonderful.
