In Oregon, postmark is irrelevant. The ballot must be in the local election office by 8PM on Election Day. You have to use one of the official drop boxes or use USPS at least a week in advance.

In elections past, the Oregon media have advised voters to get their ballots in the mail by the Thursday before the election; this year, they're saying get it in the mail TODAY, two days earlier. Check your state's laws and make sure you follow the rules, no matter how arcane. If you go to a polling place, make 100% sure you have the required identification. If your ballot has to be witnessed, get that signature. Whatever it takes.

Nothing we can do about it for 2020 but try to fight challenges in every state it comes up but hopefully for 2022 we do what Oregon does. Send the ballots out WAY ahead of time and they are due on Election day when the polls close. Advise people to mail them in no later than 10 days before the election or drop them off in a dropoff box.

We should expect the GOP to always play voter suppression games. Extensions to deadlines after election day is just giving them an easy target.
