their ability to determine that balancing both sides is not inherently ethical.

And, as it avoids conflict/drama-for-ratings, that's another big plus for me.

I watch DW, BBC, NHK, France 24 News along with the PBS Newshour on our local PBS Station. No one pontificating, no hours of endless opinions by talking heads. It is so very refreshing and peaceful.

I usually donate when they have a match grant. What ever you donate a good soul matches your donation so it is double what you put in. Also if you get a "gift" that reduces the amount to PBS. So if you donate $100 and get a $25 tee shirt your donation is only $75 to PBS..I just donate with no gift. What I really hate is the what I call is the "beg-a-thons" pledge drives. I've already donated but I keep getting the begging for money routine. So I just call up a Public radio station on my phone. Then go back to my regular station when the begging is done. YMMV works for me.

except the pro-D ones posted here on DU, and once in a great while a political ad that has become news, like the anti-Goldwater ad “10, 9, 8, . . .”, and that anti-Dukakis ad.

I get World, Encore, the kids’ channel n PBS from our local affiliate. Today I watched a documentary on Reconstruction. There are great concerts on Encore n I like that if I’m gonna spend my time on tv, I always learn something. Frontline is on tonight..that’s where I’ll be.
