Beto O'Rourke Has Some Final Advice for the Biden Campaign

Politico

EL PASO, Texas — Beto O’Rourke was on the phone in between stops while canvassing in Bexar county, Texas, and he was trying to walk a fine line between not pissing off his friends in the Biden campaign, perhaps even creating a controversy that harms Biden’s chances to win, and making an urgent plea for Joe Biden to come campaign in Texas — now.

“I’m not complaining and I don’t have any beef with the Biden campaign but I’m just trying to make the best case for Texas.”

O’Rourke has made the case privately to Biden and to Kamala Harris. “They have been very responsive in hearing me out, talking it through,” he said. Harris in fact will come here on Friday, making her the highest level campaign figure to hit the state.

O’Rourke has made the case to Jen O'Malley Dillon, his former campaign manager who now manages the Biden campaign. “Jen has been great,” he insisted, though others close to O’Rourke here in El Paso who make up his brain trust told me they have become deeply frustrated with her.

I haven't heard anything about Biden going. I think polls are still not promising enough. But who knows.
Anyhow, I bet a VP candidate haven't been to TX in a long time either.

Beto knows Texas and he does think Biden has a chance . So he should encourage the campaign to go there . Just look at Ted Cruz's recent comments to see how he is starting to distance himself from Trump on the personal attacks and suddenly cares about the deficits now . He knows he could lose the next time .

The Biden campaign also has to consider what they think is best in winning the election . I think going to Texas would be a huge thing but they also want to make sure they have certain states locked up . I think if it was any other year they would have already gone there .

the Biden camp knows what they are doing. Winning Texas would be nice and a major blow to the Republicans but I'd hate to see Biden neglect some of the other must have states chasing what turned out to be a bridge too far.

I just still don't believe we can win Texas yet. If I'm wrong I'll come back here and eat a big old plate of sauteed crow with a smile on my face. But I just don't think we are there yet.

I don't expect for Biden to be showing up over here every day. Clinton spend a lot of time in OH, little good did it do her. There are must wins states where Biden is ahead but still close. Those are the ones he presumably should be spending time in.
That doesn't mean he couldn't win in OH. Same goes for TX. GOTV!
