Alex Jones on Joe Rogan Podcast Sparks Outrage, People Cancelling Their Spotify Accounts

Newsweek

Joe Rogan is facing backlash from a number of Spotify listeners after hosting far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on his podcast this week.

With one week to go until the U.S. election, The Joe Rogan Experience platformed the controversial guest leaving many people who are upset at the nature of what was discussed declaring their intentions to cancel their accounts with the streaming platform.

Jones was banned from a number of platforms, including Spotify, last year and his previous appearances on The Joe Rogan Experience have not been added to Spotify as part of Rogan's deal.

I can recall being told we needed to tune in to Rogan's listener base to be politically successful....

I wouldn't bother trying to appeal to Joe Rogan's alt-right church transphobic base. Crowman2009 Oct 2020 #2

When Jones was popular here. As a moderator, we were tasked with controlling that, and removed links and citations to Jones essentially on sight. It went under the name 'prisonplanet' at the time. As happened with Greenwald, some took his frequent assaults on Bush the Lesser as alignment with the left, though he was just as unhinged then as he is now. Once Mr. Obama became President, Jones of course turned on a dime, and settled into his present groove.

because of joe rogan alone? I still vomit over the stupidity of a large chunk of people in this country. HOW THE FUCK DOES THE ROIDED UP FORMER FEAR FACTOR HOST HAVE THE #1 PODCAST?! That's proof enough that this country is in its waning days.

Said Jones had back stabbed him and that the Sandyhook Truther stuff was too much.

Rogan is an idiot when it comes to politics. He claims to be liberal, but he pushes irresponsible far right conspiracies. His shows on science and random stuff lie addiction and nature are great though.

He had a physicist on a few years ago who he talked to about all manor of astrophysics, cosmology, and quantum physics for 2 hours, it was fantastic and Joe did a great job of getting the interviewee to bring his talk to a level that regular people could understand. That physicist won the Nobel Prize for physics this year. Joe is a buffoon about American Politics though.
