About a month ago and got our flu shots. I got the stronger shot for the first time. I thought I’d maybe have a slight reaction (my bff had quite a reaction to it) but no problems at all. My arm wasn’t even sore!

I usually don’t get the flu afterwards. If I do, the symptoms aren’t as bad, if I do get it.

It's funny, because the only warning they gave me was telling my arm was going to be really sore for about 5 days, but my arm was barely sore at all.

However, I did come down with major flu symptoms (whole body aches, exhausted, couldn't focus or do much of anything, including eating) for two days afterward. I know it was just an immune system response, but I still felt like hell. By the third day I was feeling better, just a bit more tired than usual.

I'm a little young for a pneumonia shot, but for some reason, my new primary care doctor recommended it. Probably because I was having some chest pains when it was set up but I went through a number of tests including a nuclear PET scan and it turns out that I am fine. No heart damage at all and no blockage. My cholesterol is way down and so is my BP. It was probably just stress induced cardiac symptoms at the time since I was having a lot of anxiety about Trump and politics in general. I can't believe how much this bastard has fucked up my physical and mental health.

I had no ill effects, not even a sore arm. My wife complained about soreness but no other problems. I have grown three inches since I got the shot, but I am not sure it isn't just coincidence.

available and I was told there might not be the rest of the winter. So I demured, called around, and found the pharmacy was correct: none in the county. So I went back a few days later (last week) and said I'd have whatever was available.

We just got the super-duper senior one in! Woot!

So I'm pumped with vaccine.

Fortunately for me, the only person I typically hang out with is my wife, and she gets her shot, so I won't get it from her.

I'm up-to date on most of my other vaccines. When I see my doctor next month, I'm going to ask about the pneumonia vaccine.

* Please don't suggest alternative vaccines. It's akin to when decades ago some friends suggested trying to find out which types of alcohol I'm allergic to (it turns out I can't tolerate any; I once spent the night in an emergency room because a restaurant's barbecue sauce). The concept of "Here, try this one and maybe it won't make you so sick you'd think you're going to die" doesn't have a big attraction factor.
