They aren't being shy about voting for Trump. They're being shy about voting for Biden. If they announced that they were voting for Trump, their Republican associates would cheer them on. But, they can't disclose their intention to vote for Biden, since that would bring condemnation instead of approbation.
The real "Shy Republicans" are either voting quietly for Biden or staying home and letting Biden win.

(884 posts)I do expect there will also be a certain number of "shy republicans" who will, in fact, be voting for Trump, but they're concerned about the blowback acknowledging it would get from friends and family who gave them a pass once, but likely would not again.

I havent forgotten about the oops we just found these big bags of ballots in Wisconsin 2010. And certain red communities sudden and unprecedented 100% voter turnout.
Remember: Donnie virtually PROMISED us that he was going to cheat to win, stuff ballot boxes, submit fake ballots, etc. and we have republicans like Huckabee out there joking about it on Twitter.
