This Is What It Means When Your Dog Puts Their Paw On You

It’s common knowledge that dogs wag their tails when they’re happy and tuck them in when they’re anxious. Some body language, however, is a little less clear. Like have you ever wondered what it really means when they put their paw on you? Turns out, it could be a sign of affection that translates into the three words that we long to hear: “I love you.”

There's not that much difference between "I love you" and "I'd love a treat." But I"m fine with that.

He sits next to me most of the time and always stretches that left paw out to rest it on my leg.

Between the direction a dog's tail is wagging - right or left.

Siamese dog? Not cat right?

You can set a watch when Pearl the Wonder Dog hits me up at exactly 4:30 every afternoon. She'll adjust to this daylight savings shit in, like, two days. The paw, shiny coal black eyes and a smile; I'm an easy mark

That’s what I always thought that paw was telling me. Because the dog and I both know it’s true.

on my hand or forearm. In the summer they sometimes use my foot or lower leg (I guess any paw will do?) When I noticed they prefer skin, I also noticed they sometimes prefer it with each other as well, often laying with their paw pads touching each other.

it's very sweet.

She loves ramming her nose against mine in the bed when its time to get up. I'm frequently amazed at the tremendous amount of force an 8 pound animal can leverage through its little cold nose! 6 AM time for treats!

My 13 month old German Sheperd has be careful what she does with her body, as she is becoming huge, and she’s just barely an adolescent. She is so funny though.

Hitting me with her paw is my little mutts ( border collie, chihuahua, and terrier of some sort) favorite form of communication. She’s my old lady. I love her a lot
