I have been watching the dems lead increase daily and keep hearing just wait until they show up on Tuesday. I just dont believe they are showing up. I think a lot of them will just stay home.

I expect them to do so.

(38,601 posts)And if they do, it will be the day Drumpfs Russian friends cut the power or take down the internet or bust the machines. So things will have to be hand counted, extending the date to call it. A big backfire, like railing against absentee ballots and slowing the mail.

(866 posts)I keep hearing that 72% of Republicans intend to vote on Election Day. Why on earth would we believe that? Even if someone took that survey, most people I know who intended to vote on Election Day have gone ahead and voted early. Id hate to be the party counting on that.

(14,958 posts)After 5 years of constant propaganda (instead of just 1 year last time), their cult has only grown.
In general higher voter turnout is good for Dems, but some of the increase in voter turnout will be Trump votes.

(32,017 posts)Its hard to imagine that he gained more voters in four years of pandering to his base. He may have even lost a couple of million, but the Republicans have produced roughly 60 million votes for their candidate in every Presidential election since 2000. I expect them to do the same this year.
If the nation hits 140 million total votes this year, as some are projecting, that means 80 million for Biden and 60 million for Trump. That sounds about right to me.

(22,112 posts)waiting to vote, or have voted. I'm sick and tired of hearing about these 'trump' voters etc., and the lengthy analysis that seems to come up whenever 'trump voters' are mentioned. I got a sick feeling that we're going to hear endlessly about the trump voter forever it seems, even after the elections are over and done with.
I agree w/ you, that perhaps a few republicans will stay home, but a lot of them being that they ignored health safety guidelines, I suspect are sick. Maybe to show to show support for Biden in an indirect way, will not vote at all (no vote for either but still, a win for Biden...this is sad (and I hear the same thing on supporting Biden, I don't like trump, but I don't like Biden either, so I won't vote period)).
This is self-defeating. Biden has reached out to all voters, not just his voters.
Has trump reached out to anyone else besides 'blacks' and 'housewives' via his rally comments/remarks? I don't think rump reaches out to anyone else other than himself, filthy POS rapist. Pardon my language but I think he's disgusting and I'll be so glad that the POS will be soon gone but will be glad to read the news articles on his being charged with multiple crime(s) by numerous state and / or federal authorities. The rule of law and justice will finally prevail, and Barr's interference will be finally removed and Barr himself charged with aiding and abetting a criminal enterprise.

(82,849 posts)Republicans are notorious for happy talk designed to please their base and depress turnout for their opponents. Let's talk up the encouraging numbers for Democrats and talk down the Republican voters' performance thus far. If Republican voters feel like their vote isn't going to make a difference, maybe they stay home instead of going to the polls on November 3. We don't need to discourage all of them, but maybe we get 3-5% of them giving up. I'll take that.

(25,464 posts)Consistent turnout, combined with suppressing the other side, is how they win elections.
Here in TX, they always seem to show up. That's why I'm a bit more pessimistic about Biden's chances here than most. Same with Hegar. I think it's going to be tough, but I'll be thrilled of course if they pull it off.

(2,064 posts)The elderly who haven't flipped to Biden probably voted early if they were going to vote for Trump.
If they didn't, it's 50/50 that they stay home due to COVID risk. I'm 66 and I voted early to avoid standing in a line with a bunch of people. I'm not sure I would vote on Nov 3.

Democrats are going to represent that day.

(21,745 posts)If we are seeing these lines taking hours during early voting, what kind of lines will we see on election day if 60-80 million folks show up on a single day?
The Republicans have done a stellar job of making it difficult to vote.
I'd like to see it bite them on the ass.
