They're making a big deal about it on MSNBC.

(55,697 posts)try and throw shade at VP Biden. He uses 'some Democrats say' crap just like trump uses 'some people say' when, really, very few IF any actually do.

(55,697 posts)prime time slot, now they need to finish it by putting him completely on the sidelines while he waits out the end of his contract or, even better, pay him out with the condition he doesn't go to Fox or OAN for a year at least.

(47,466 posts)I mean, there is a pandemic going on, and Democrats are actually considerate of that, unlike Trump.

(61,031 posts)At this point, Biden gets coverage wherever he is. Trump's main coverage is that he is doing super spreaders, that he is short of money for ads. Not to mention, the coverage of his angry troll rallies is not what people saw in 2016. (We hate equally either version of Trump - but many who were attracted to 2016 Trump, who are not true believers, may be repulsed by 2020 Trump.)
Certainly Biden VOTING, sends the message in every state "VOTE".

(47,466 posts)That's getting coverage. Not a very good coverage, though. Some ended up in the hospital.
We have internet, we have TV. Why do we need the candidate to show up in person everywhere? Especially during a pandemic.

(61,031 posts)For all politicians, the excitement of being the Presidential nominee, winning the primaries, having the big convention, then the large rallies has to be a dream come true. Even more with a people loving extrovert like Joe Biden.
Replacing all that with responsible campaigning is the action of a mature person, able to weight the sacrifice of giving up those events that would put the attendees at risk. What is ironic is that Trump, likely does not particularly like people in general and he gained fame as a TV character, who was more successful than the real man. It shows something that he did not even consider that he has skills using TV etc.
For me, having lived in NJ and VT - neither swing states - I have long seen the campaigns thru TV and the internet. (My choice of CSPAN and the Kerry blog as top sources in 2004 meant I saw a campaign very different than most in non swing states and possibly even the swing states. In some way, EVERYONE is now seeing this election mostly through media. I saw wonderful Kerry speeches in 2004 that the media did not find worth covering more than a few minutes of mostly their talking heads speaking. This year, I bet more people stuck at home have seen the wonderful thoughtful speeches that Biden has given.
