I was going to wait till election day to vote, for no other reason than I didn't..DONE!!

Want this district, and for that matter, this state (Florida, and I am in Jax) to be mostly Republicans voting. I at least wanted to have a liberal vote cast in my precinct on the 3rd.

But.....


The early voting site (a public library) is right down the street from my regular polling place (a church) and I have to get a CAT or MRI scan - not sure which - this afternoon that is basically across the street from the library, so I thought...fuckit.

So...in a couple hours I'll have voted, and FWIW, I am bringing my next older brother along who hasn't voted in the last few cycles, so I'll basically double my ballot.

The constant suggestions by candidates and others to vote early have swayed me, I suppose. Might as well do it when there is no line, instead of getting up at 5 to be there at 6 to vote at 7 on 11/3.

There are quite few Trumpy yard signs in this area, but I like to think that all the houses without any sign at all are Biden voters!

Trumpy carried this state and we did elect DeSantis as governor and sent the criminal that preceded him to the Senate, so it is fair to say that Florida has enough nutjobs that it could be close.

And we have to make sure nobody ever sits home on our side again. This work needs to keep up for the next 30 or 40 years, until the republican party is to the left of where we were in the 70's.

This is the first election I ever voted early usually wait until Election Day. I feel so much better and relieved I casted that early vote.

I was happy to hear the lady say it has been steady all day, and they have been averaging over 1000 people per day since they opened this early voting spot. The parking lot was busy and the stream of cars, while not backed up, was steady.



I was also pleased to see this sign right in front of the doors.

Because I honestly wanted to be one of the Democratic votes that the networks could report on! I also had a sort of morbid curiosity about seeing if any one of those assholes with guns might show up.

I had run through several scenarios in my head as to what I would say if I confronted one, but....,

This was easy, pleasant and fast.

In my neck of the woods, the line was over 2 hours for me.
and ... there was this commando wannabe type that was walking along the length of the line with determination and scoping. He had an army green shirt with a print of a rifle on the back.

He must of been one of those called up by the dumpster of gods, guns and country. lol. glad you got it done!
