They don’t care about living babies, humans, children, the poor, the hungry, the sick, the disabled, the elderly, or the wrongly convicted.

They just want to punish women who had sex.

Women cannot be allowed agency in their world view.

and should therefore be held up for scorn -- after sex, of course. These men insist that abortion is murder -- unless, of course, it is their own side-piece that got pregnant.

And it applies to females who were raised to regard sex as intrinsically evil and, therefore, to be avoided except in cases where their husbands demanded it. For these women, the very idea of a woman unshackled by religious indoctrination who freely enjoy life -- including sex -- is repulsive.

Abortion to these men and women is a sacrilegious way for a sinner to avoid paying for her (and it is always "her&quot crime against "God." Speak with one for a while and you will understand that talk about back-alley abortions leading to disfigurement and even death give them a sense of righteous pleasure. If the woman, they say, had controlled herself, she wouldn't have "gotten into trouble" in the first place and, of course, "God" is a just "God."

Once you're "out" - color, income, background, attitudes, beliefs, voting history, and deductions count, not your "life."

I've been pushing this idea for awhile.

"You don't get to say you're 'pro-life' anymore"... if

... you're okay with putting your fans in danger by first exposing them to COVID by staging these "super-spreader" rallies with crowds packed closely together, to bathe your ego.

... you're okay with putting those fans not only in danger of COVID, but in danger of exposure to extreme cold, A FEW MILES AWAY from their cars, with no way to get to them besides walking in the dark and freezing cold. How do you think THAT'LL work out?

... you're okay with putting those fans at risk - many of them ELDERLY and therefore vulnerable to everything and anything unhealthy.

... you're okay with threatening to deny funding to blue states - when that funding goes toward sustaining life of the poor, hungry, and homeless.

... you're okay with trump trying to get rid of the Affordable Care Act - DURING A FREAKIN' DAMN PANDEMIC, no less; a pandemic that's already claimed almost a quarter million America lives - 228-thousand-plus, last I looked, as of late this morning.

... you're okay with a so-called "president" who helped make all those COVID casualties happen - GUARANTEED that they'd happen, as a matter of fact - by sneering and lying and dismissing it all as a hoax and something that'd go away like a miracle - in the early days of the pandemic. When known steps even back then could have been taken to minimize the sickness and death. AND YOU KNEW IT IN ADVANCE (thanks to what we know you told Bob Woodward, WAY early in the game).

... you're okay with kids in cages, who were snatched from their parents' arms at the border for the simple crime of having been born with brown skin and south of the US border. How's their life now? Still being shuffled around the country in foster homes? Still in custody, sleeping on the cold hard concrete floor with a mylar blanket for warmth? Do some of the really young ones even remember their mother's loving arms or soft voice or their dad's toting them around on his shoulders?

And of course ...

... you're okay with environmental conditions getting worse, and the climate crisis gaining speed, while you do nothing and worse-than-nothing, deregulating polluters and relaxing regulations? What kind of life-sustaining powers will our planet still have by the time you're through? And btw, YOUR OWN grandchildren will pay the price as well, even though you're too myopic to see that far forward. All you care about is what-can-I-get-now/how-much/how-soon?

And there's more. SO much more.

it was during a presser about Watergate. Sadly, I can't remember the question DR asked Nixon that started the exchange, but I will never forget the next two.

RMN: (attempt at levity, regarding the minor furor of other press members reacting to DR having the next question) "Are you thinking of running for office, Dan?"

DR: "No Mister President. Are you?"

If looks could kill...
