Politico: Is President Donald Trump a Flight Risk?

Interesting Politico article. Also, if Trump were to leave the U.S., given how vindictive he is, what is to keep him from pulling an Eric Snowden and fleeing to Russia to attack the U.S. from abroad as a "president in exile" and claim that the election was stolen from him while inciting right wingers in order to create civil unrest?

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/is-president-donald-trump-a-flight-risk/ar-BB1au69W?li=BBnbcA1

Earlier this month, at a campaign rally in Macon, Georgia, President Donald Trump mused aloud to the crowd about what he might do if he loses the election on November 3. “Maybe I'll have to leave the country, I don’t know,” Trump said.

Was the statement merely a sour-grapes throwaway line by a cantankerous candidate facing potential defeat? Or was it a signal that Trump might actually abandon—some would say flee—our shores and seek refuge elsewhere if he is routed by a Joe Biden victory?

* * *

While it is rare among leaders of developed democracies, during the past 50 years we’ve seen a number of high-profile flights by national leaders facing major legal, political or societal problems at home, These include Bolivian president Evo Morales, who fled to Mexico just last year; Ukraine’s Viktor Yanukovych, who fled to Russia in 2014 and Ferdinand Marcos from the Philippines in 1986. All three fled in the wake of contentious elections, either after being ousted by voters or toppled by sustained protests. At the moment nothing suggests that Trump faces the unlikely prospect of being chased out of the country. But it’s no stretch to point out the parallel, either: They were all unorthodox strongman leaders who abused their offices, and simply didn’t see a way to stay comfortably in their countries once they’d lost power.

In the U.S., Trump might be familiar with some of the high-rolling financial fraudsters who decamped from the U.S. as the law was closing in. Among the most notorious was Robert Vesco, who successfully evaded justice by fleeing in a corporate jet in 1973 and remained out of reach until his death decades later. Less fortunate were Richard Allen Stanford, 2009, and Martin Frankel, 1999. Both tried to escape the U.S. by leasing private jets. Stanford was captured before he could finalize arrangements; Frankel made it as far as Germany but was later extradited back to the U.S. for a long jail term.

lock him up, try him, and either life in a supermax, or, if need be, execute him as traitor and mass murderer

I would think that the US would have learned by now (after the bullshit live and let live kissy kissy rot after the US Civil War) that sometimes a monstrous ex leader simply must die (or at least be locked in a hole for life)

Europe knows this, and Europe is far more advanced on a humanity scale NOW than the US is. Partially because we did just that on some bad motherfuckers.

Trump has a lot of valuable knowledge that he could use as a bargaining chip, perhaps to settle debts.

So yes, he's a flight risk and I do mean risk. It'll be in the best interest of our nation's national security to keep him locked up.

...to Putin, and plenty of detailed documents that wouldn't rely on Trump's feeble brain and attention span.

The best we can do now (and I'm sure Biden has already figured this out) is change all of our security codes and plans to be as different from anything Trump has already leaked as possible.

Also, given how invested Republicans have been in the idea of voter fraud, how do they disavow Trump claiming that he should have won, but for hundreds of millions of illegal votes cast by mail. If Trump loses and a hostile foreign country was willing to host him, Trump could continue rely on Republican talking points to attack the legitimacy of the election, criticize Democrats, and incite civil unrest.

Trump Supporters More Confident in Election Victory Than Biden Supporters, Polling Suggests

Current polling points to former Vice President Joe Biden becoming the next president of the United States. However, his supporters and Democrats aren't as confident in their candidate as President Donald Trump and his supporters are in theirs.

Going into the final week of the election, Biden has about an 8 percentage-point lead over Trump, according to a RealClearPolitics average. The gap poses a problem for the president winning the Electoral College, according to experts, But Trump is far from giving up and has a busy rally schedule in the days until November 3. Trump's supporters are still waiting in line for hours to secure a spot for one of his rallies, and polls show they're confident he'll pull out an election victory.

Two YouGov polls—one that was done for The Economist and one for Yahoo!—both found 87 percent of Trump's supporters believe he'll win reelection.

Republicans—not just necessarily Trump supporters—are also more confident in Trump to win than Democrats' faith in Biden. Eighty-three percent of Republicans put their figurative money on Trump, according to an Emerson College poll released on Wednesday, and 73 percent thought Biden would win. Independents sided with Trump by a slim margin of three percentage points.

It would be the great proof to 62-million Americans they voted for a traitor!

It would lay the groundwork for the immediate overturning EVERY court appointment and executive order he made since Jan. 2017, and be the highway to prison for decades for those that helped him do it (Flynn, Bannon, Lewandowski, Gorka, Parscale, Giuliani, Miller, and pick-a-name.)

spy and sitting with Trump as he requests literally all the classified information that Putin could ever care to receive. Right now, short of Pence 25thing him, there is nothing that would stop that eventuality. Trump doesn't know what to ask for, but a skilled spy just might.

Donald J. tRUMP becomes violent and attacks those around him, because he lost the election and has to be restrained by Secret Service. Will his family be around him to console him over his loss or will they bail knowing that he will become very violent, leaving his ass kissers to take the beatings?
