... when it was at 35,000 in the early afternoon and less than half the states reporting.

And the Trump administration is pretending they ended it! Unbelievable.

A quick graph puts us there as early as Nov 5.

It's hard to predict since there is such a weekend-dependent curve. But it's an exponential up, rather than a straight line so it curving up faster.

It's such a zig-zag, it's much harder for me to predict than earlier, when weekends were only slight dips.

tomorrow's total will be about 98,395 (average of 7.5% increase)

The range would be: 97,480(6.5% - 3 weeks ago) - 99.768 (9% - last week)

Looking this week's data - compared to the same day the prior week the increase is similar in terms of a prediction:

18% (monday - monday), 21%, 27%, and 22.5%). The average of those would be 22%.

Last Friday was 81,427. A 22% increase over last Friday's number would put us at: 99,463. (Range from 96,083 -103,168)

So - either way you look at it - pretty close to 100,000 (possibly over)

We won’t come close to 100,000. Local and state governments in a lot of places panicked two weeks ago and implemented restrictions and mask mandates. We will soon see the outcome of the restrictions and mask wearing mandates, my belief is they will cause numbers of infections to start decreasing. But we will see large COVID19 death numbers soon because of the lag between infections and deaths.

It's like trying to turn a cruise ship, instead of the ferry we could have turned more quickly if they had started earlier.

We may hit 100,000 tomorrow (probably a coin toss).

If we don't hit it tomorrow, one of my models puts it on Wedneday, the other puts it on Thursday of next week.

I don’t normally drive after 6pm on a Friday, but today I did. The chain restaurants on the main highway in my city looked packed, based upon the vehicles in the parking lots as I drive by. There is no way social distancing could be followed and since masks can’t be kept on by diners, a lot of people were exposing themselves.

Not something I enjoy being right about - but aside from lack of compliance, it is so much harder to slow down the growth when it is so widespread.
