(44,973 posts)They need to drop them off in drop boxes or whatever their state allows that doesn't involve USPS.

(1,580 posts)It is impractical and those ballots will most likely not make it at this late date. We have to tell them to drop them off in a ballot box or return them to county courts office.

Oh, and depending on your date of birth, they arrive on the first or the second or the third or the fourth Wednesday of the month.

(25,841 posts)400 million plus piece of mail EVERY SINGLE DAY? That's a lot more than the number of registered voters in this country. Not all of them vote by mail. And those that do, don't mail their ballots in on the same day.
So it's total BULLSHIT that not mailing things will help.
Oh, and do you want to know how many extra pieces of mail are handled at Christmas? No? I'll just say a fuck of a lot more than the average daily mailing, with or without ballots.
So DO NOT try to "help" the USPS by cutting back on mail. Dear lord.
A couple of weeks back someone I know posted on FB to stop mail ordering stuff, and then confessed to ordering several more things. Hmmm. Three or four mail orders. One ballot. Let me think about that.
