which is why they didn't go back out to pick people up? My husband said he saw something online but I can't find anything from a credible source.

(2,754 posts)Some think the busses should have made 1 trip from the parking lot to the hangar, and waited to bring them back. Of course the owner/operator thinks more trips is more money, and there are bunches and bunches of rabid [sic] fans waiting...

(19,754 posts)has been conflated with the Omaha event. About a week or so prior to Omaha there was a "protest" in DC which was supposed to bring many hundreds (thousands?) of people from a bunch of different places in the eastern US. But some of the buses which were arranged to bring these people to DC never showed up to pick up their groups because they had been reserved by the Trump campaign but not paid for. The jilted protesters tried to claim the bus line denied them service b/c they were MAGAts, and the bus company had to put out a statement clarifying that it was because of lack of payment.
This after the fact whining was the first time I had even heard about this "protest" but it was in the news around the time of Omaha, so I think the headlines about Trump campaign not paying for buses (for DC) were misinterpreted by people also seeing headlines about bus troubles in Omaha.

(16,428 posts)Like so many things posted here it's either satire or it just makes such a good story we want to believe it.
According to an interview the Omaha World Herald did with the bus company owner and an interview the next day with the Omaha mayor, they didn't anticipate that many people and the busses ran until anybody that wanted one got a ride, even though it was pretty late. And cold.

(34,661 posts)for rally events are set up so the Buses are Parked close to the event venue. Or a Parking Lot within a short walk from the venue. And the Drivers either stay with the Bus or are allowed into the Venue. Understand this usual process did not happen and the Buses left the Airport and got stuck in exit traffic.
BTW,usual procedure is to move the Buses into position at least one half hour before the event ends and Streets are blocked to allow easy egress for the Buses.

(28,493 posts)at one go. And I've read about how there was very limited access, as in one narrow road, to both the airport and the parking lot with was nearly four miles away. Clearly, the genius who decided that would be a good airport for a rally hadn't bothered to look at a map.
