First, let me say that I really don't care how most Americans who have immigrated sound...Hell, I don't care if they don't even speak English.....But with Melania it's different because of Trump's America First, anti-immigrant stance, and most of his supporters would make fun of someone who sounded like her.....On top of the that, she was portrayed as someone who was "fluent" in 5 languages. There is no way she is fluent in English, and it isn't the accent...it's the mispronunciations and the butchering of words....Again, normally I wouldn't care about an immigrant's broken English, but is the her portrayal and Trump's assholery towards immigrants.

and speaking with as thick of an accent as Melania. I'm told that it is usually children who come before puberty that can learn to speak accent-free. It's far less common for adults. But when in Italy, Melania required an interpreter to communicate with small school children. And further, when she entered the room and offered a greeting in Italian she used the incorrect tense.

She claims to speak French.

But when conversing with President and Mrs. Macron, Melania was only able to speak with them in English. Not a word of French passed her lips.

Melania dropped out of college after 1 semester. When and where would she have learned all these languages?

In my opinion, this "5 languages lie" was bullshit that originated in the pathologically lying mind of Donald Trump. He probably also told her to lie about having a degree in Architecture from "University in Slovenia."

Excuse me, but Architecture is an incredible difficult degree to obtain. You need to be able to master Calculus. Does Melania strike you as a person who knows Calculus? It was such a blatant lie, that it was quietly retracted.

She has been in this country for at least 25 years and has had every opportunity to learn the language and accent fluently but she has not. If she is not stupid, then she is just lazy. I happen to think that she is lazy and stupid, considering her tenure as "first lady". What has she done besides coin the phrase "Be Best" and destroy the Rose Garden? I have several friends who are immigrants, who speak with foreign accents of one kind or another. Doesn't bother me at all, and I enjoy their friendship and their points of view. This is not about the accents, it's about the hypocrisy of the Chumps and people like them.

Chump's own mother came from another country, and his father was born in the U.S. to parents who raised him to speak German before he spoke English. Having fluency in a 2nd language (other than English) is a sign of intelligence and mental flexibility if nothing else.

I believe Chump's hatred of immigrants is a pretense to get the MAGAts to support him. It became another one of his dog whistles, once he learned how to get the MAGAts worked up at the rallies. He'll say anything if he thinks they'll scream and cheer for it.
