Early voting in some states, like Texas,

is already coming close to the TOTAL vote in 2016. That either means that nobody will be voting in person on November 3, or it means a truly record turnout overall.

I thing it's the latter. While in-person election day voting will probably be less than usual, there will still be plenty of people who show up at their polling place on Tuesday.

I think 2020 is going to break records in total turnout. I cannot see any way that isn't good news for us and for Joe Biden.

So, I'm disregarding the doomsayers and predicters of calamity who are showing up on DU this week. Completely.

If you haven't already voted, please vote. If you're voting on Tuesday, stay in line until you can cast your ballot. The more voters, the better the chances of a decisive Biden win.

1. Texas has already exceeded its 2016 voter turnout

Paul Begla is famous for stating that Texas is not a red state or a blue state but a non-voting state. We will see what happens if people turnout to vote

This high turnout in Texas bodes very well for Joe. I would not be surprised at all to see Texas go blue on Tuesday. Once that happens, the Republican Party has no choice but to reform itself or die.

we might break 100 million before Tuesday, so that seems possible or at least plausible.

Basic rule of thumb is that higher turnout favors Dems. That many voters showing up would indicate a possible Blue Wave of epic proportions.

8. I think that is very likely. People are very motivated to vote.

That includes even younger voters. That will help our side win, I'm certain.

The uptick in youth vote across the country is a statistic that really stands out for me. No way are these people voting for Trump, so I sort of unscientifically extrapolate that to mean the early voter numbers are better for Biden than Trump. In other words, if the youth are this motivated to vote Trump out, I’m sure that is the motivation driving the majority of early voters.

I, too, am ignoring doomsayers whether on DU or one of the major networks. It happens EVERY general election year where some predict doom and gloom, but this year the stakes are just too high for my anxiety to be able to withstand these messages of impending doom.

Or real damn close. People are pissed and want real change, not regression.

Dump is a regressive swamp rat.

10. Personally, I think many people are going to be surprised.

I suspect that a many people are not being polled who will be voting for Biden. So, I wouldn't be surprised that you are correct.

This is not 2016. In 2016, we did not have a pandemic. In 2016, we had not watched Trump for almost years. In 2020, we have a pandemic and have been watching Donald J. Trump try his best to destroy this country.

We're voting now, and many of us already have voted.

with approval ratings and national election polling is not all of sudden hit 47% or 48% as that is what it will take to have a chance at 270. Pollsters know this , GOP knows this.

Nothing that trump/gop has done that drives any demographic support TO THEM that they already have. NO expansion with educated people white or otherwise, no expansion with female voters educated or otherwise, losing senior support the more they talk about COVID is a media hoax. I won;t be shocked if trumps final numbers nationally is 42% and a historic landslide by popular vote

I've been observing politics since 1968 and my intuition and observations may not be perfect but they usually correct. As long as people continue to vote and come out on Nov 3 to vote and the votes are counted.

The supreme court WILL not be involved in the outcome

13. Our best response to irrational leadership is to
Fri Oct 30, 2020, 12:48 PM

think about how we can vote the irrational leader out of office.

If, as I think will happen, we vote in a way that is clear and decisive, Trump's machinations and legalistic challenges will be useless.

The response to Trump should be to vote in large numbers for Joe Biden. I think that is exactly what is happening right now, and what will happen on Tuesday.
