Nevada : Significant mail counting today has pushed Clark Dem firewall up to 81K

Significant mail counting today has pushed Clark Dem firewall up to 81K, a jump of 5K from my post this morning. This is significant because it essentially negated rural gains from Thursday. Going to look at the new numbers and will have a post up soon about state of play in NV.

I voted at one of our early voting sites and today is the last day for early voting. When I went to vote (by the Walmart at Arroyo Grande/Rainbow for those familiar with Vegas), the line wasn't long but quite a few had B/H buttons or stickers on their cars/trucks.

We have been affected greatly by COVID. Plenty of people have lost their jobs (myself included) and the hospitality industry has been hammered.

Things are recovering slowly but COVID-19 is not gone and unfortunately a lot of our visitors have not behaved safely. My BF went to a black tie gala for the grand opening of a new casino downtown and he was alarmed by people not properly social distancing and/or wearing their masks, particularly after lots of drinking.

Statewide, the lead for the Dems is just under 45K (so the Clark mail offset the rural gains). That’s a little under 4 percent or right at voter reg numbers.

More than 1 million Nevadans have cast ballots, which is closing in on 60 percent of active voters. If 1.4 million vote, which would be slightly above 2016’s 77 percent, that means 73 percent have already voted who will cast ballots in the election. If 1.5 million vote, which would be astounding (85 percent), that means before we see any early votes from today, 68 percent of the vote is in.
Fingers crossed.

up for it with mail-in. Today is the final in-person vote day but mail-in counts will continue up until Tuesday. Dems will (I think) have a firewall in Clark of 100K.
