Obnoxious loud-mouthed know-nothings. Every vote for every Democrat is our way of saying STFU to all of them.

(6,477 posts)the stupidity of the Trump rallies in the last months of the 2020 election. They seem to be precisely the wrong thing, not only because they are superspreader events, but because they highlight the kookiness of Trumpism. In 2016 they were a novelty. Now they just seem creepy. Most middle-of-the-road persuadables are persuadable precisely because they're not joiners. Thos kinds of people don't want to be associated with fanatics. It's, well, for lack of a better word, losery. The Trump rallies look just...uncool. Biden played it right, I think, both from a safety perspective, and from an appeal to persuadables perspective: you don't have to join with us, or wear a specific color hat, or look like you're super into something. In fact, it's OK not to be super into it. Let's just get back to something chill that doesn't require a whole fucking identity. Can we have a politics that's not a weirdo identity? The rallies are probably hurting Trump for that reason. Even some folks who might lean in his direction are like, "Well, I don't really want to be...one of those. It's...just...embarrassing." But what do I know.

(18,003 posts)I really hate that 3% bullshit. The rubes heard a number they barely understand and latched on to it, with no appreciation for the complexities of the American Revolution. There's really no way of telling how many served the American cause. They came and they went. Some were continentals for a time, then left to become militia and visa versa. And huge swaths of the male populace belonged to colonial militia units of various sorts. Some of them were involved in active fighting off and on. Some were not. So, basing their claim simply on pension applications divided by some estimate of colonial population shows what simpletons these people really are. And it wasn't active colonials who decided the damn thing. It was significant French help and political pressure in London to end the money drain. The most powerful empire the world had ever seen at that time could have crushed us as easily as we could have turned North Vietnam into a treeless plain. But at what cost and to what end?

(1,910 posts)Every Friday from 3-7 pm Trumpers gather on the corner of the busiest intersection of Palm Beach Gardens, FL. Every Friday for the past 5 years they have been there. Today there were a ton of them, obnoxious as ever, waving flags, yelling at cars to honk for Trump. Just the thought of these total aholes being sad next week and disappearing gives me happiness. My guess is they continue to show up for a while when Trump pretends he won, but gradually fade away forever.

In fairness, I don't want to avoid or discriminate against cult 45 members, but I am obliged to because they are more likely to have been exposed to covid, given their political leanings.
I've shopped at a local farmers market for years, with many vendors. Several months ago one was wearing a trump shirt. I used to buy his apples and peaches, but not this year. And he wasn't wearing a mask either. So i avoided that booth, mostly because of the threat and fear of Covid.
I try to be accepting and welcoming towards people with intellectual, emotional, or physical challenges. But overall, I am sick of his supporters too. The vast majority are brainwashed and deluded, ignorant and misguided, uneducated (according to polls) and self righteous.
They are not a majority but they act as if they were, and make a big noise. I agree and hope they STFU after the blue wave hits.

(1,737 posts)The whole lot of them. They are tired of Trump and his divisive tweets, speech, and deeds. They are tired of his enablers who go to great length to defend his BS. They are tired of his family, Rudy, and the rest of the scoundrels who have turned to the US government into Trump Inc. They are indeed also tired of his cultish, violent, dumbass, bunch of useful idiotic followers.

(2,574 posts)to the best of my ability, long ago.
I always felt that they were all just Nazis waiting to happen. I cannot, in good conscience, be friends with a Republican, because no decent, honorable human being would ever join the Republican party, because of what the Republican party is, what it stands for, and most of all, what it does.
The Republican party is a hate group. Trump, and Trump supporters, are the inevitable culmination of over a century of Republican party deceit, corruption, and flat out evil.
We must do whatever we can to democratically quarantine the Republican party from any and all power. If they can do evil, they will do evil.

(22,196 posts)caring Americans (who care about EVERYbody)...I hope that this stops but I wonder. There are going to be a lot of recriminations and back and forth accusations come Nov. 4, 2020 and I expect that more and more republicans will come out and start bashing trump for destroying their party (but in truth, they all did it to themselves, having never really vetted trump to begin with).
Get ready for a ride, folks, I'm sure that there is going to be some surprises in store for us coming up, one of which I personally think that the numbers for Biden is going to surprise people (and the lower than expected numbers for trump, being that trump's pretty well done everything he could think of to drive away all other voting groups that could have supported him).
Poll after poll after poll has confirmed that trump is running behind and seemingly getting further behind. Kind of like his multiple bankruptcies, eh? I guess old (and bad) habits are hard to break, eh, mr. trump?
Bankrupt in money, and bankrupt in the soul too.
