Doom & Gloom email about PA from DKos. Sounded overpessimistic. I bet I knew what came at the end.

Sure enough. A request for money from some purportedly Democratic organization I had never heard of before.

Do not reply except to send money, of course. Well, I'll meet them halfway. I will not reply and I will not send money.

I fully expect to get messages in the next 3 days asking to send money via "Go Fraud Me."

on the pessimism, quoting the worst polls, saying they are in trouble. They must find it more effective. I had the impression that Biden already had more money than he could spend, and a lot more than Dotard has.

"According to Daily Kos, its finances are sustained through lead generation, sponsored content, fundraising, and donations from readers and supporters....."

OK, fundraising, I get that part, but this goes beyond mere "fundraising." This is hammer-to-the-skull money-fleecing.

sow panic and fear. Michael Moore is one of the more prominent examples. There are plenty of others among the sea of podcasters. And quite a few 'reputable' journalists as well.

I do look at the site daily and sometimes poke a comment or 2 when any talk of Michael Moore or Susan Sarnadon comes up

A serious candidate tells you up front that they are looking for money, and they come right out with why.

These are spam-like emails from, or rather via, DK and directly from new "progressive Democratic" organizations that didn't seem to exist last week. Always pretending to be a news article of some sort, or else a "survey," and then a pitch for money after a questionable round of poll results, or a response to $6 trillion in dark Republican money that just showed up last night in the race for Sioux City dog catcher.

like he did prior to 2016. I don’t know if is the people he selected but it made me feel uneasy about PA. Then someone posted another poll that had Biden leading by 5 but said it was 7 a week earlier. So they said it could be noise or the race could be tightening up. We will see..

...You are going to find a bunch of rednecks and evangelicals who support Trump. Where I live in southern Illinois is no different nor is Wisconsin Michigan, et al... the key is to get the turnout around urban and suburban areas in places like Pittsburgh and Philly and all those backwards rural places will not matter.

and pickup trucks with confederate flags. The thing is these are rural areas, without a lot of voters compared to suburbs and cities.

The gun shops are just a way of life in PA. Hunting is a state past time. But the pickup trucks are a different heritage altogether. Lots of PA blood was spilled fighting that flag... Times have changed.

Just saying.

I get on average one text every 2-3 days asking for money. I get many emails a day. Sometimes I get two or more texts a day, sometimes right after I donate.

I get the feeling there is a small percentage of people who donate and they just keep beating the drum to motivate people.

I love it when joe or kamalla or a random surrogate addresses me personally, like they know me. Sheesh. I get the personal touch but I also know you don't write jack squat yourselves.

And no, for you trumpers, trump doesn't look at lists to see if you have personally donated to him - unless he wants millions from a billionairy.

I do not live there, haven't for quite a few years now. My US phone is only turned on when I'm back there, which is not often, and they don't call my German phone because most of them don't have it. Actually, I maxed out my contribution to Biden as soon as he clinched the nomination, only gave to Jay Inslee (my first choice) prior to that. As for other candidates, there are plenty of others I have contributed to. I know some of them personally (e.g. Hickenlooper, Kelly, Valenzuela, Seikaly, Jackie Gordon, Wendy Davis, etc.) and don't know most of them personally (McGrath, Hegar, Gideon, Harrison, Cisneros, Osoff, Bollier, Greenfield, etc).

As for the small number of people donating, from the numbers we have been raising this year, I get the distinct impression that there are a few more this year.

If that's how it came across, I apologize.

But when you donate they ask for an email and/or phone number. Many people maintain us phone numbers even when they live overseas and just use a reflector to send messages to a local number. You have to be a us citizen to donate, and they do check to some degree, so using a german phone number would raise flags.

So I figured you were getting these messages from the candidates if you got one from kos.

As for the small number of donor's comment, I meant in relation to every plea. They probably only get a few percent of people donating with every plea. That pool is VERY large however.

With electronic communications, large lists are essentially free. Nobody is charging by the message yet unless you are using a rented mailing list.

Tons of Biden signs, but the "passion" the cult is showing for Dump is huge. There are monster flags even here just south of the city. More Biden, but the Trump stuff is more obnoxious.

Today watching the football game I saw 2 to 1 Trump commercials. If I see that "siding with the communists" commercial one more time I will scream.

I still say PA goes Biden, but I am feeling it closer than 5. We need turnout and are Biden voters "enthusiastic"? I know I am, but just being "against Trump" may not be enough to get everyone to vote. We will see soon enough.
