It must have been a cinch, given the Bush-era read-and-write software-run tabulation machines they were using - designed by the likes of Diebold and the Uroseviches to be easily tampered with (by Repugs, for Repugs).

The prevailing attitude since then seems to be: let's not let anyone know, as it would "erode people's trust in the system."

Well meaning as that may be, that's not helping.

It's like the gambling addict juggling accounts so that the Mrs. won't find out and "lose faith" in him: it usually only leads to the problem getting worse.

Should, God willing, Joe be our next president, political reform should be second only on the agenda to a national Covid policy - and banning electronic voting/tabulation devices (as nearly all developed countries who've tried it have), priority one.

Some folks here will panic. Other's will be worrying or freaking out. The doom and gloom posts are obviously a projection of fear over something we can't control. I don't blame people for panicking since that's one way to react to it, among others.

I don't mind if people express that all here because I don't need to talk them out of it as a way to feel better vicariously. If you are calm and even minded, then it is not a big bother, but a reason to feel empathy and compassion.

I mean, consider the circumstances.

Currently, Biden is a -180 favorite while Trump is a +160 underdog, with BetOnline reporting that just under 70% of the handle has come in on Trump. While the money is backing a Trump repeat, Biden holds slight edge at 54% of total wagers.

Lastly, Iowa is gravy. Biden doesn't need it to win. Donnie has far more ways to loose than Biden does. He needs the planets to align perfectly once again. It ain't happening, just like I ain't winning the mega millions.

The ones that are panicking are the Republicans, the ones dressed up as if they are going to war, sitting in their truck beds, waving the Trump flags.

It's an election, guys, not the start of a war. So chill, ok?

And if you really want to start a war, just remember there are plenty of legally sanctioned people out there who know that guns don't just make scary noises. Easy to recognize, they tend to wear police and army uniforms. And they know how to shoot straight.

63. No, you don't get to tell me to relax either.

You have no idea what any given individual may be going through. You don't know if someone has an anxiety disorder or other issue. You don't know what an individual's personal stake might be.

You have no idea what each of us is doing to try to cope. You're basically just lecturing a bunch of strangers about how they should manage their inner lives.

And your tone is so patronizing that it may simply add to someone's stress level.

I'll tell you one way that I've been coping. That's by putting overly annoying posters on Ignore. I'm just about to the point that I will no longer be able to see your sage advice. Oh my what a loss that would be.😱

I try to be as helpful and comforting as possible. And yeah do I know how people feel? I can sense it. I have big time anxiety, I have depression.

I never once gave off a tone of patronizing anyone other than to tell people to relax.

I know what's at stake as a transgender person. I know the goddamn stake and you coming and telling me im lecturing people strangers? No these people here are not strangers to me. They are my friends that I see always in constant worry and I want them to just take a step back and breath.

You wanna ignore me? Feel free. I won't lose any sleep over it. If anything you are the one coming off rude to me like I screamed at you

This thread is a textbook example of that. I won't tell others what to post but I may need to avoid certain threads. Reading some of the negativity is bringing me down.

I don’t know anyone panicking.

People are justifiably worried about the future of this country.
