I lose it with Trump supporters

Whether I encounter them through social media or I actually know them.
I lay out facts, but I'm not diplomatic. They make my blood boil, and I cannot remain calm. My uncle my not appreciate the fact I just lit into a Trump supporter on his FB post, but so be it. I can't help myself.

Anyone else feel the same?

They are part of a cult.

Ask them this..."If Donald Trump told you to drink cyanide-laced Kool Aid, knowing it would kill you, would you do it?"

See what responses you get. I get subject changes. But ask the question again when they do that. They will tell you to fuck off, which proves your point they are part of a cult.

the economic downtown was due to Trump's "shutting down businesses." I told her that Trump never shut down any businesses, that in fact he argued that they should remain open. He's doing the same thing now despite the fact we are at the highest infection rates ever. I had a few all caps words in there.

So far no response. Trump supporters never have facts to support them because there is no legitimate reason for a human being to support Trump.

I don't even want to engage. It's pointless and it only infuriates me. It's not worth it.

I have no use for these people. I am seriously considering giving the holidays a pass this year. I love my family and we have sort of an unwritten rule not to discuss politics, but somebody always has a little too much to drink and starts in.

I am outnumbered unless I am with my liberal brother and his family in Baltimore, but we may not go down there for T-giving because of covid and the travel situation and my NY/New England family is all conservative. It's more anxiety than I need this time of year.

This is a guy I used to date. He said, I'll call you on Monday. I responded "not if you're voting for Trump. I'm serious." I can't say as I ever liked him that much, and now I want nothing to do with him. I don't have your forbearance.

Probably a "purity" thing.

Lots of Nazis felt that way after Russian troops took Berlin. And protested loudly. But the Russians didn't seem to mind, they just executed them. After a few hours of that, the brave Nazis just stood back as the Russians raped their way through the suburbs. Funny how total capitulation effects the attitude.
However, I draw comparison in only the narrowest sense here. I'm sure that if Trump prevails, American Nazis will be much more temperate and civilized. Sedate even, with every exhibition of sublimity and culture. Provided they aren't too aggravated by all the flying pigs.

Yes some can not be saved. I have found that on Facebook my best response to insane memes and what not is to go private. So I message them, but not to say you idiot. I will start off in a kind manor, such as, I can see why that makes sense at a glance, but did you know (enter in some facts), the thing is don't be mean, don't play gotcha, be kind, agree with the sentiment. I have found they take it down, many times they even message back sorry. So as an example, got a huge all cops are perfect former co-worker. She posted something about BLM causing riots, on messenger I go, with something along these lines, yes these riots have to stop, nothing is changed by damaging property (see agreement, this keeps there mind open to continue reading), next up lay down some facts, i.e. militia groups doing the damage and link to news articles. I will always close with again I agree with X, but thought they should know about Y.

This does not always work, sometimes I get called a fool, sometimes unfriended, but I know if I just confront, make no attempt to draw out why they think that they will never change. Think of yourself, if someone with the opposite view of yours called you an A**hole, you just tune then out, you need to come across in a kind manor to change a mind.

I don't know if I'm capable. That's why I've declined making persuasion calls for the Biden campaign. I told them I'm not capable of having a civil conversation about politics. Still, I do okay with undecideds when I reach them. Online is harder for me.

Lying to people like they do, this no consequences has to end soon!

I still see a landslide for Biden.

I expect YUGE unrest if he tries to deny the landslide in ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM?

He negatively impacted hundreds of thousands of families with just Covid?
He said stupid patently offensive blabber that probably covers 61+% of the country?

This era has revealed that there are a lot of potential Nazis out there only masquerading as civilized, but a lot of those spouting RW lies with conviction really do want to be good people. They think they're fighting evil.

These days I try to avoid political conversation, but when it happens I feel an obligation to counter lies by offering some basic information. The object, though, isn't to indulge my own hostilities or cut off communication, so I'll lay one or two pieces calmly on the table between us, so to speak, instead of tossing them like toxic pies at their faces. And then allow the conversation to move on, which it notably is able to.

Wish I could control it better but right now I can’t. Fortunately I am rarely these days in contact with somebody that talks that way except on the Internet.

didn't know her at all. She messaged me out of the blue, saying people like me, you know, democrats, are what's wrong with this country, how can I support that party, blah blah blah. I beat her over the head with facts about trump, verifiable evidence of his misdeeds and missteps. A small sampling, as there is a logical limit as to how much text is allowed. She replied by calling me a "sheep" then promptly blocked me, as she obviously cannot deal with fact, only rhetoric.

She ran and hid. Cowardice is a trumpian staple.

and lack all common sense, and therefore, are directly or indirectly dangerous.
I know what they are thinking before they do:

"Prey. Kill. Eat!!!!"

They are the same as the racist Nazis who joyfully murdered millions of Jews and others, and literally worship a narcissistic sociopath:

Check out at the photo in this article:

I don't waste my time arguing with Nazi idiots; rather, I use my time thinking of ways to protect myself, my family, and my country from them, and how to quarantine them from power so they are limited to harming as few innocent people as possible.
