Make Election Day a National Holiday......

And name it the Day of Remembrance.

It honors the memories of our beloved departed AND reinforces the memory that the citizen vote/uprising threw out the tyrant who caused all those deaths.

the ACTUAL voting time lasts 24 hours so that those who may still need to work (first responders, police, medical staffs) have the opportunity to work AND vote.
Also, the actual "24 hours" is changed for each time zone so that the "actual" voting is ended in unison throughout all voting districts (ex: it ends at 8 in New York, at 7 in Columbus, at 6 in Denver, and at 5 in San Francisco). That way no voters are influenced by early results from other areas.

I've never been a fan of having a national holiday to honor one person, even if it was MLK. (I'd give it a second consideration if the late RBG was given that honor though....just kidding)

A day to honor a group of people or movement makes more sense to me.

RBG should be remembered, though, in some way. Not sure the proper way. Harriett Tubman will be on the $20 bill.

"RBG Elected Senator Equality Bill" (?) = Since there are 2 senators per state, by law one seat must be held by a man and one must be held by a woman.
