... Republicans are ahead in "enthusiasm." They probably say "Are you enthusiastic about Trump?" "Are you enthusiastic about Biden?" When what they should be asking is "Are you enthusiastic about getting rid of Trump?"

Not surprising if Repubs are more enthusiastic about their candidate than Dems. Enthusiasm for the person is all they've got. No policies worth even defending.
