Humanitarian crisis in Armenia & Artsakh

One month ago, the combined forces of Turkey and Azerbaijan launched an illegal war on Armenia and Artsakh. In that one month, over 3000 Armenians have been killed (conservative estimates).
In percentage of total Armenian population, this would be like 330,000 Americans dying (far more than have tragically perished in the entire COVID-19 pandemic).
Armenia and Artsakh are facing a devastating and worsening war, pandemic, and humanitarian crisis. The world must come together to prevent another genocide.
Please call on your leaders to support Armenia, condemn Turkish & Azerbaijani atrocities, and recognize the independence of the Republic of Artsakh.

that is currently occupied by Armenia. Thus it is far from clear that Azerbaijan trying to take control of it is "illegal".

Does "the Republic of Artsakh" call for independence? Or does it call for being part of Armenia?
