Pitsbugh-Post Gazette edorsement of Trump is just laughingly bad

This was apparently their 1st endorsement of a Republican Presidential candidate since 1972. Their conclusion is basically, yeah we know Trump is a jerk and imbecile but the economy was doing great before Covid and he kept all his promises (cough..build the wall..healthcare...cough cough). They can't support Biden cause he's gonna raise taxes and he's too old and won't make it through his first term but Trump is old too but hey he's got Pence to fall back on. Really guys?

I personally had never heard of this newspaper but some of my Republican friends were all excited about it this morning. Hopefully, voters in the Pittsburgh area don't listen to these idiots.

Spent a lot of time there as a kid (grandparents lived there). It's not a city - or wasn't at one time - that would encourage an endorsement of a psychopath. Just strange to me, maybe not to those who live there now, or close by.

It IS, however, just south of Butler county.

https://www.syracuse.com/politics/cny/2020/10/john-katko-of-course-trump-is-a-knucklehead-i-dont-like-him-as-a-person.html

Rep. John Katko used the final public forum of his campaign to tell voters that President Donald Trump is a “knucklehead” and that he doesn’t like the president, despite endorsing him for a second term.

Katko, R-Camillus, made his comments Thursday night in a virtual forum over Zoom sponsored by the Black Leadership Coalition of Syracuse.

The third-term Republican endorsed Trump, a fellow Republican, in January but has tried to make a distinction: He likes the president’s policies, but not his personality and rhetoric.

When asked at the forum why Black people should vote for Republicans in the election, Katko said he’s asking Central New Yorkers to vote for him, not his party or president.

“Of course, Trump is a knucklehead,” Katko said. “And of course, I mean, I don’t like him as a person. I don’t like his rhetoric. I don’t like his lack of discipline. I’m more concerned about your pocketbook. I’m more concerned about your economic opportunity. And I’m more concerned about where we are going as a country.”

It's a bunch of BS and shows he's worried about his Democratic opponent, Dana Balter. It's too bad he was sorely lacking in good judgment that he jumped the gun and endorsed the Dumpster way back in January. Nice timing there, Katko! Idiot!

Now owned by RW-owners and have been pushing the paper and staff to the right.
Look up "Rob Rogers" (cartoonist) - fired because he made too many tRump cartoons.
The ownership is now in a contract battle with staff.
Sad.......

That makes a whopping 6 papers that have come out for Trump. The others are Sheldon Adelson’s (yeah - eff that guy) Las Vegas Review-Journal, Rupert Murdock’s (eff him too) New York Post, the packed with Reich-wing “Christians” Colorado Springs Gazette, the Spokesman Review (whose ‘endorsement’ began with “Trump is a bully and a bigot”), and the just-as-bad-as-the-New-York-Post, Boston Herald.

After four years the incumbent got all of six papers to back him. “Heckofajob!” someone might have said.
