To believe the Des Moines Register poll of Iowa, you'd have to think that both Trump and Sen. Ernst have made huge surges from the prior DMR polling.
But the Emerson poll released today shows a SMALLER Trump lead - only 1% - than the 2% and 4% they showed him having in prior polls. So the notion that Trump has gotten a huge surge of Iowa support in recent weeks is highly doubtful. Insider Advantage also released a poll that showed Trump with only a 2% lead which further confirms that no big Trump surge has occurred.
Remember that Trump won Iowa by 10% in 2016. So if he's running 8 or 9 percentage points behind that with Midwestern voters then that indicates an 7 or 8 point win by Biden in MI, PA and WI, which Trump won by less than 1%.
