Nicole Wallace is without peer when it comes to political savvy and knowledge of the system. She makes Rachel Maddow look like an amateur.

(115,683 posts)Wallace has an insider's perspective; Maddow takes more of an academic approach. Both are very good at what they do, but they do different things.

(5,499 posts)Rachel is a new journalist who reports from her own point of view, which is witty and insightful. But different from Nicole's point of view. I them both interesting. But I like Rachel.

(3,741 posts)Just making a comparison. Nicole got a two hour show for a reason. I have nothing personal against Rachel.

(19,956 posts)than Nicolle's show. Rachel is outstanding in what she does. Nicolle runs more of a talk news show, which is easier to do for 2 hours.

(11,599 posts)They have different skill sets and both are very good at what they do. I remember the days when Nicole was a guest on Rachel's show. I know they've been friends for years. I doubt if Nicole thinks Rachel is an amateur.

(53,776 posts)perspective. Wallace is a former republican operative who is now an independent because trump has happened to her party.
I'm glad she contributes what she does but her perspective is not of more value than Maddow's.
Again, apples and oranges.

(5,523 posts)She celebrated winning using voter suppression and dirty tricks. She rightfully disavows Trump and his Republican cult now, but never hear her say anything bad about earlier administrations. One exception is her description of Sarah Palin.

(90,674 posts)I make sure to watch both of them every day. Both are highly intelligent. Dr Maddow has a gift for bringing guests on one at a time for in-depth interviews. Ms Wallace has a gift for bringing a panel together and letting each speak their piece. Both of them are unafraid to show their hearts and humanity in these times.

(3,635 posts)in drilling down on a particular topic that everyone else is missing. Ex: the spread of Covid in nursing homes, the DeJoy situation, the recent rise in covid in rural states, Trump family's ongoing corruption.
Nicolle was a longtime GOP political insider and operative, and so she clearly is better at understanding the daily ins-and-outs of politics and how Washington works, similar to Chris Matthews and Lawrence O'Donnell.

(15,286 posts)She listens to replies, asks great follow-up questions and presses guests who won't answer. She did a real good job with Bolton who was only partly successful at evading her questions.
