Rachel, Joy and Nicolle Are Having A Blast On MSNBC Tonight

They are cracking up and truly having a good time. Steve Kornacki presents his worst case scenarios and then they cut back to the ladies who are all smiles and having fun.

I think it’s another clue of what’s to come. If bad news was coming, their behavior would absolutely be different.

The tone of tonight is optimistic. Feels good.

When it first started becoming apparent that we might be in for trouble, they tried not to let their worry/fear show for as long as possible. It was weird because I was getting emotionally nauseated as time went on. I don’t know how they did it, how they held it together. And then late into the night it became obvious that Clinton was losing, they were subdued and deflated, but they still held it together. Glad it wasn’t me on tv, I was a basket case.

I don’t think I’ve been the same since.

I remember coming home from work a little late that usual that night. My then 11year old son was watching the returns on MSNBC. I walked in and said “hi monkey, what’s happening with the election?” He looked at me with tears in his eyes and said “Mama. It’s happening. He is winning.” We cried together. I tried so hard to tell him it would be okay but I’m a horrible liar. It wasn’t okay. None of us have been the same. I am cautiously hopeful this time around but I’ll say this...if the pollsters screwed up this time, we had better not give them the time of day again...ever.

Even more than Trump himself.

To think that our country had that many people who were that poor a judge if character, or that knew his character and voted for him anyway.

My mother is one of them, she just voted for him again. She’s 91 and terrified of covid, and still, she voted for him. I can hardly stand to think about it. I hate that I’m so angry at her that I can hardly stand to be around her when she’s 91.

That night I was cautiously optimistic until about 8:30 to 9:00 cst. I think they were discussing the Florida returns and how they seemed to be trickling in slower than was normal. I was hit with a sudden feeling of dread and prayed that I was wrong. The night unfolded like a very slow moving multiple car pile up that couldn't be stopped. I'm glad that I worked as a temp at that time and was between jobs. I was spared the gloating from trump supporters. I would've been too upset to go in plus I hadn't slept a wink that night. I envy the people that didn't find out until the next day. They got one more night of decent rest than the rest of us.

I'm still suffering ptsd from the 2016 debacle! I WILL NOT celebrate until its over and done. Maybe not until January 21, 2021. I just will not. Sure the signs are good, poll numbers are in the right place and all that. But this is the guy I thought entered and exited the race in the same speach.
