Into the population. I know a couple people who have some bizarre ideas about COVID. I never encourage them to expand on their crazy beliefs but from the little Ive pieced together they are way out there. Mind control or tracking devices seem to be the main thing, and Bill Gates is behind it. Im used to turning people off when they start up about the world bank and Jewish bankers, but this stuff is some really crazy shit.

(9,899 posts)At the beginning, he was talking about the surveillance of NYC hospitals bla bla bla.
At that time I told him we will have empirical evidence from any spike or lack there of, in unexpected death rates.
About a week ago I reminded him on the nearly 300k higher death count than should be expected..
Crickets.. Facts dont mean shit to the cult.

Luckily, my fiance has been no contact for several months now, and plans to keep it that way.

(64,995 posts)But, I know a few drones who are convinced the numbers are inflated greatly.
PINO's nonsense about doctors profiting from COVID diagnoses isn't helping.
A couple of those guys took 3 times, including showing them the CDC & NIH websites on my phone, showing flu deaths vs. cases, year over year, vs. COVID.
One of them even said, "Well, so far this is nothing like the H1N1.". Until I showed him the data that is was around 13,000.
This was when COVID was around 125,000 deaths.
It was after that, he began bleating about the inflated numbers. He thought the numbers were real until he found it is wasn't way better than swine flu.
Suddenly, the numbers were overreported.
Can't argue with that sort of intellectual convenience.

You should encourage your acquaintances to expand on the whole collection of conspiracy theories. As long as you regard them as collectively written fantasy fiction, they are quite entertaining. Whole new worlds, like Tolkien.

(13,890 posts)Before the internets it was the wacko's on short wave radio from Coeur d'Alene Idaho... Black helicopters, contrails, anti vaccine the whole 9 yards. He's harmless and when he gets going it's very entertaining with his logic... I see it as fear of the unknown. Conspiracy's come from not knowing the truth or not believing in the truth... If you don't like my truth then you make up something that aligns with what you believe is true. YMMV...
