My best friend for the past 25 years is a repug, but has always before been a thoughtful smart person, always very caring and kind, not the typical repug at all. Well, sad to say, she has slipped, hanging out with her GA repug relatives. Last week she made the statement to me that drumpf is no worse than Biden, they are both the same. Well, I lost it and told her no way. I loved her, but that's not true and how could she even compare them. Then I went into a 10 min. rant about all the fucked up things drumpf is doing and she actualy defended him sending 39 people to the hospital because he wouldn't pay the bus, she said it was their decision to go there and put no blame on drumpf at all. I am shocked and appalled. We usually have lunch together every week, but I don't think I can do it this week, at least not until drumpf has conceded.
This is breaking my heart. I am very shy around new people and don't make friends easy. Once I have a friend, I keep them forever, hence the 25 years. She and I really mean a lot to each other and it breaks my heart to see her going over to the faux snooze dead zone. I know she didn't mean everything she was saying and just was defending her party and it's president, but really, how could she?She is not a stupid woman, owned her own business for 25 years and was good at it. She's not racist, not a bit, and not a crazy evangelical. Before she would call out repugs, including drumpf. But now, all of a sudden, Biden is worse, only because he is a Democrat?
Sad, I know she needs me, especially since the death of her husband about a year ago. I just don't want to talk to her again until she's regained sanity. Hope it comes soon. I'll not be calling/seeing her until then.
